Zeitfrei Fixed Gear Concept
2009
Objective
To identify a new lifestyle concept and silhouette that seamlessly blends performance and style.
Description
We introduced a concept and silhouette centered around fixed gear cycling, a new lifestyle sport known for its aesthetic focus and high performance, given that these bikes don’t have brakes. This project marked the first large-scale collaboration between hypebeast.com, Solebox, and Bianchi, featuring a unique go-to-market concept.
Role: Global Product Manager
From initial briefings to product creation, including design, production, and go-to-market roadmap. Responsible for selecting participating doors and ensuring strategic alignment with the inline collection and overall brand direction.
Challenge
Developing a new concept from the ground up with immediate global relevance, achieving swift alignment with internal structures at global, regional, and local levels.
Results
This globally significant concept became a vital component of the international offering. The initiative achieved remarkable image and commercial success in both direct-to-consumer (DTC) and wholesale (WHS) markets, pioneering a new lifestyle sport category.
Achieved outstanding sell-in and sell-through results with minimal marketing budget. Business Week recognized the shoe as one of the 25 coolest designs in 2009.
